You must go. Imagine going to see a movie that you love (Ghostbusters, Princess Bride etc) and the audience dresses up and enhances the experience instead of ruining it texting.

Duck Soup. Many people rate it highly, but it made me upset at how incoherent and stupid it was.

This is not from the Golden Age of Cinema, a Film Noir or a Black & White (Classic) film.

So I'm designing cards for a heavily modified game of D&D to make things convenient for my players. The design needs a bit of tweaking but... what do you think? by Djentingin graphic_design

Was thinking more of a subtle background image, or a font change with a medieval twist. Summon serifs :)

Can someone explain the concept of the "Unreliable Narrator" to me? by bigibergin writing

[–]SpacedJ 2 points3 points ago

A good example is Rashomon. Each narrator gives a different account of the same events.

It's magic, maybe needs a bit more of an arcane touch - wisps of smoke and strange symbols, the aged lettering of ancient tomes...

The Rose of the Prophet trilogy by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman had a gay character (Mathew the wizard) without it being a big deal.

For a film class I have to shoot a shot for shot remake of a scene from any movie. What scene would be fun and interesting for a couple of high school seniors to re-shoot? by Awesomatorin movies

Consider something from Requiem for a Dream. Lots of quirky shots and angles to work with, would be challenging but really effective.

Interesting. First time I really noticed digital colour grading was in The Matrix, so they kinda go together.

In LOTR, why didn't Sauron, with his millions of troops, set aside a hundred--even a thousand--of them to just camp outside Mt. Doom? by worffin movies

[–]SpacedJ 3 points4 points ago

Sauron knowing that the Fellowship intended to destroy it

I always thought that he assumed that nobody would want to destroy such a powerful weapon. How did he learn they wanted to destroy it? He'd more likely assume the fellowship were taking it to Minas Tirith to strengthen their armies. Denethor sent Borimir to get the ring for that reason, and Denethor was being watched through the Palantir so Sauron would probably assume that was the plan all along.

But filling the entrance to the cracks of doom with solid concrete would have been a good idea anyway.
