Feels bad... REALLY bad. by SilarXin Darkroom

The developer was kind of fresh, despite of the date on the label, so it didn't die. So not exausted, not polluted, not fixed before developed... Also I'm sure i didn't do a stop bath before developing, because the water jug was different, so no chance to miss it. The film looks clearly underdeveloped (if this is the right term), you can see numbers on the borders and some shadows where the subject should have been. I don't dare to say that DevChart was wrong about time and proportions, so by now I still don't have a hint about what happened :/

Reason why it couldn't be that I fixed it first. Beside the fact that the way I work makes it almost impossible to happen :)

I was a big fan of Rodinal, even if it's more complicated to mix with the right proportion considering the precarious conditions I have to work with (skewed sink, small room on the table, other people doing the same thing I'm doing, wires at eye level where baryta is drying). Using a 400ISO AND doing shots in a controlled light environment and Rodinal is not the best choice grain-wise, so I decided to go with the one that could guarantee a good result. Let's say that this last thing didn't happen. About HC-110, even if it's an 'easy' developer... dunno, I don't feel like I want to use it. Irrational reasons, anyway.

It actually helps a lot, thank you! It was my school's, indeed, not light-tight container and very similar to other containers where we store exausted developer and fixer. It was in the dark room where we reel up films, so there's not much traffic in it, opposite to the wet rooms, where mess is an euphemism and gets quite crowded sometimes. Tomorrow there will be my teacher who was the one that prepared it, so I'll ask his opinion. It still hurts, 72 frames of studio shots... :/

It was nearly clear when I spilled it from its tank. Seeing that color (other times it was as clear as before developing) I WTFed, pretty much. I don't think it was replenished, I was the only one using it in my class last week, and the other teacher doesn't use it at all. So I'm pretty much sure it's the same from last time. I'll ask, anyway.

It was a stock diluition that's been lying there since november 2010. I used it last week, and this is one out of 36 perfectly developed shots (diluition was 1:1, 9:30 mins, Ilford Delta 400)

This is the first thing one of my teachers said, but I swear I'm almost OCD when it comes to developing. I have my fixed actions, I have jugs with their own tag and I prepare everything following always the same flow. When my teacher put another piece of film in the jug where the exausted developer was, it got dark. Putting another piece of film in the fixer made it transparent, as it should be. There are some shadows that you obviously cannot see from my picture, and you can see some of the edge codes too. When I emptied the tank from Xtol I found a weird thing that didn't happen when I developed other films: the liquid had the color of a double malt and there was foam, A LOT of foam. I thought it was due to the longer developing process (this time I used 600 ml 1:2 diluition for 17 minutes, Rollei Retro 400S).

Disclaimer: I'm sorry if some terms are not the right ones, not a native speaker here plus first time discussing about darkroom stuff in english.

Nope, my camera is perfect, so were the shots. An accident with XTOL, what most likely happened is that the tank where the developer is has been contaminated. I'm mourning :(

I'm 17 and my mom just technically abandoned me. Is there anything I need to know that can help me. by zzenterin AskReddit

I'll quote you in toto. Same happened to me. I think if I didn't seek for professional help when I was 24, now I would be doomed. It didn't last long, just one year, but it was enough to rescue me from the beginning of depression. I didn't take medications because they weren't needed, I just had to work through traumas that came from my childhood, basically all my family's fault. Fun is that my family doctor suggested to try some antidepressant prior to therapy. I wisely chose not to. Now, if I have the chance, I try to encourage people that seem to have kind of my same issues to talk to a psychologist, at least.

Giusto, mi ero persa il 'li asciugo'. Comunque rimane il fatto che per come li tratta avrà quasi sicuramente una scopa di saggina in testa, a dispetto delle belle foto coi capelli lucididatonnellatedioliononolio. :)

This happened several times when I used to fly to Norway. Must say best flights ever, felt like home, and better than the exit row sits where i feel kind of... exposed.

What If i tell you there's barely enough space for a person? I tried to maximize the use of high ceilings I have here, but it's still a 280x80 cm bathroom...

Bad hair day + arms not long enough to show foot holding tape measure, height and the thing, I can guarantee what you see is true :)

My friend built the shower and I wasn't home, and when he mounted the sliding door he wasn't sure if it was long enough to reach over the top of my head. Luckily it was!

To me it wouldn't be so nice, I use to lower it to my chin the according to my needs at that moment, if I take two showers in a day I can't wash my hair twice, and I hate wearing those bathing caps. I wonder why many of us don't have a rail to hold the shower (insert the appropriate word, which I do not know).
