There are some pretty conservative (read crazy) branches of Christianity that state Joseph and Mary never had sex but they had kids that where the half-brother of Jesus and they are not divine.

I grew up in the Episcopal church and attended Christian colleges for my undergrad and my MS degree and I cannot understand that at all (neither of the colleges I went nor my upbringing promoted that view).

Assuming each partner correctly uses each method of birth control there will be no statistically relevant increase in the prevention of contraception. The pill is only that effective when taken correctly (same time every single day). Condoms, if I recall, are 97% effective if used properly and drop drastically if not used properly.
