IdrA is part of EG which is highly successful. You could argue that if he would be in a similar situation if he would get kicked (which is unlikely as fuck), but I doubt that was your point.

Set the game to "Borderless window" or "Fullscreen (windowed)" from video settings.

I'm not sure on the exact name and I'm not at home so I can't check, but this will fix it for you.

While having not played in the last few days due to diablo-related issues, I am pretty sure the matchmaking is still there. It disappeared for me once as well, though, when the servers were down. It's probably an issue on their part, and they'll most likely fix it soon.
