Add a minimum buyout price when you search. I am doing an alt right now and wearing truly kickass gear and I refuse to spend more than 10k per piece.

She's level 43 now, and in Act 2 Nightmare, so I'm pretty much in the same spot as you.

It has been working out very well for me.

Minimum Buyout: For when you simply can't be bothered dealing with commoner prices.

The staff costs 1 million to craft and I think you'll be surprised how much the ponies will destroy you.

If you can clear Act 2 easily though, you may be able to muddle through some of the small packs.

Blizzard won't do what you are suggesting exactly.

They've said they will be doing more legendaries later, but we won't see new affixes until the expansion imo.

Your idea sounds good on paper, but the players would feel cheated if their "BiS" gear they paid 80 dollars for was made second class by a content patch. Screwing players like that makes them less likely to spend again, not more likely.

What's worse, there are itsy bitsy bids on some of my items and nobody will be able to search for them to compete before they run out.

Also bad, the prices of items drops so incredibly far in 2 days. There is no way the items I was trying to sell will sell for the same amount I was hoping to get.

This happened to everyone. After the crash the only auction showing were new ones. It was crazy to see everything with 2d remaining.

I have to work on 4 auction slots for the next day.

Pony Level in Hell gets up to item level 59.

Act 4 also gets up that high I believe.

At item level 54 you can get rares with 100 primary stat and 50 all resistance, things like that will earn you some nice coin.

Things to look for in no particular order:
Primary Stat
Vitality
All Resistance
Attack Speed
Magic Find
Sockets

Pony level is also good for gems, which sell quickly.

I didn't mention the downside:

Your entire maximum bid is committed to the auction when you place the bid (to prevent you from spending it and not having enough when the auction is over). So auction sniping still has a small place so that you can make sure not to commit funds that you may want to reallocate.

I understand what you mean, but I primarily meant the extreme examples like the monk invincibility bug, energy armor, or smoke screen 24 second immunity.

All of those things have been nerfed now, and I think it is good for the game as a whole.

To a lesser degree though, I do actually think there is a problem with a monks ability to handle act 2 inferno. My gear is rather ridiculous, and I'm having fun... but I do wish a bit that I chose Demon Hunter as my first class so that I could actually avoid melee damage.

No amount of skill changes the fact that I'm a melee class and will often be physically adjacent to 2-3 mobs at the same time. If I get a bit unlucky with dodges, I'm a goner!

Demon Hunter is crazy fun.

If you only compare your ability to clear content against those of the same class as you, you will have a great time no matter what class you play.

If most monks get stuck on Act 2 Inferno and you can handle Act 3 because you thought your gear and build through thoroughly, you should be satisfied and not upset because a class-of-the-week is farming act 4.

I personally can't seem to do what I just suggested and I get super jealous of other classes... but that's how I wish I could play!

That's the major complaint I've been hearing too.

I think "Inferno is too hard" is an oversimplification of what people are saying.

I don't mind the difficulty, but if a class has the capacity to clear the content with half the gear that I have I feel a bit screwed by my class choice.

I don't consider the game won just because you can kill Diablo on Inferno any more than I considered killing Baal on Hell to be the end of D2.

For me, it will always be about seeking out rarer and better loot and farming gear to sell in the auction house.

The accumulation of wealth in this game will be what keeps me around. I think auctioning rarities is fun.

If you just put in the max price you are willing to pay, it won't automatically rise to that price.

It will just go right above what someone else was willing to pay for it.

Then it will automatically adjust every time there is a new bid.

When you win it, you'll get your item and money back.

Don't wait to "snipe" auctions, just put in what you want and if you don't win it is because the price was simply higher than you were willing to pay.

When I'm playing alone the chance of me completing the pack before dying and them resetting is not high enough for me to consider it worth it.

I think that is your problem.

The people who cleared the act/game were skipping champions when it was an option because they are hard as fuck.

Actual quest bosses are easy comparatively.

You can see your own items, but the auction house will only show you ~47 pages of items in your query. Make sure you specify level range specifically and you should see it.

You can't buy your own though, but you will see it listed.

What are your thoughts on Act 2 difficulty and how are you compensating?

The difference is incredible. I can tank the effects of champion mobs without moving in Act 1 now, but can't handle Act 2 trash.

I think all the people legitimately complaining are doing Act 2 and beyond, and people who say it is okay have only put serious time into Act 1.

You are playing the wrong game if you don't like to trade/sell. That's sort of the point.

You can play by yourself and refuse to use the auction house, that's your choice.

Edit: I'm missing my cyclone stike dodge chance in that screenshot, and also that doesn't have doubled effect of dodge aura.

It gets up to 69% when engaged in a group.
