Do your shoes fit? by BinnocentEyestanderin climbing

[–]Praxis1452 0 points1 point ago*

It matters to me, but I also like to save money. I did indeed buy mine online but I tried a few pairs and some past experience. I also have morton's toe and it's pretty significant so...

1st pair: 5.10 rogues 9.5. The first shoes I got, they started out nice and tight I guess but my foot moves around inside the toebox pretty significantly now, and if I curl my toes there is a biiiiiig dead space. This is because the synthetic upper near the toebox has stretched a lot. Funnily enough, I don't feel like this really hinders my climbing that much if at all. I only climb like 5.10's(a-d) to v3/v4 though.

2nd pair (bought online and returned) - evolv prime's 8.5 - Ridiculously tight. I could not keep it on for like 30 seconds or even get the other shoe on.

3rd pair (bought online, kinda guessed the size from my other 5.10 pair) - 5.10 prism's size 9. I saw them for 1/2 off like $70 and I couldn't resist as my rogue's got holes. They were quite tight at the start, but I wore them in the shower once and after say 10 sessions of climbing or so they are now quite snug. They could even be a little too loose now, but it's a lace up so atleast I can adjust it all the way down to the toe now. The problem I guess with sizing any smaller for me is I don't think I can't really fit in 8.5, but if 9 is too big after stretching... Also I'm unsure how my morton's really affects the shoe. It's the reason I haven't gone for super aggressive shoes with the biggest part near the big toe. It means that if I get a tight fit my other toes are super super scrunched.

Why Germans Don’t Have A Problem With Mandated Health Care by imatworkprobablyin worldnews

[–]Praxis1452 3 points4 points ago

He also helped create the precedence for social security iirc. However, the age then is roughly the same age now: 65. Except now people live longer.

http://www.ssa.gov/history/ottob.html

One persistent myth about the German program is that it adopted age 65 as the standard retirement age because that was Bismarck's age. This myth is important because Germany was one of the models America looked to in designing its own Social Security plan; and the myth is that America adopted age 65 as the age for retirement benefits because this was the age adopted by Germany when they created their program. In fact, Germany initially set age 70 as the retirement age (and Bismarck himself was 74 at the time) and it was not until 27 years later (in 1916) that the age was lowered to 65. By that time, Bismarck had been dead for 18 years.

4 Reasons John Carter Bombed At The Box Office by ssommer01in movies

[–]Praxis1452 2 points3 points ago

Not just that, but with that kind of name, the trailers and commercials better tell me something. Despite probably having caught like 10 or more john carter commercials at one point or another, I STILL don't know what the movie is about. The only thing I noticed was that it was that the special effects budget was huge. That's about it. fighting fighting cgi and nothing else.

Crit chance AD carry by Ziggy1505in leagueoflegends

[–]Praxis1452 1 point2 points ago

The ability to crit at lvl 1 to whenever people grab the IE is worth 4 ad or so. you need 4 crit marks to ~get 4% crit chance. 4 ad or 4% crit. Given that early level crits can really help win a lane, it's obviously worth it.

4 ad will not make or break a trade. Critting someone will.

Crit chance AD carry by Ziggy1505in leagueoflegends

[–]Praxis1452 0 points1 point ago

The answer is obviously yes. You only need 4 crit marks to get the same amount of crit as the mastery. that's 4 less ad. 1 lucky crit vs. 4 ad overall.

That crit is what will make the difference if you get it. And if you don't, I don't think 4 ad will.

4ad is worth the ability to crit at lvl 1 to whenever people get crit chance items, which if you go double dorans into inf edge, can be quite a while before you get it. This gives you a large advantage. I can't see a reason not to run some crit runes.

What's up with AP Yi? by othanielin leagueoflegends

[–]Praxis1452 5 points6 points ago

The main problem with this is meditate. That has a 20+s cd or so. It's just you alphastrike and run away. The only thing that really counters that is breaking the channel with a stun, which some champions don't have.

If they try to chase you and don't have a stun you can just meditate through it and heal. Also yi has a pretty high movespeed and with his ult it's pretty much impossible to ever get ganked.

Basically I think if you have the ability to abuse his cd's do so, but with certain kits that's just not really possible. He's gonna alphastrike you, and if you really go after him he'll meditate through it or just run away fast enough.

I think the best thing to do is just let him push you to try and dodge is a-strike by not being near the front of 4 minions if you're ranged and can farm like that. you'll be at tower and if he a-strikes you there, hopefully you have a snare or something when he ends up right next to you.

4% Crit from Masteries Gone Next Patch by lolthr0win leagueoflegends

[–]Praxis1452 2 points3 points ago*

Atleast I still have my crit runes. You lose like 4 ad getting the 4% crit chance again. Think it'll be worth it to always add in some crit runes on gp. '

edit: what's wrong with what I said? If a single crit really wins your lane like people complained about, isn't it worth it to run crit runes? You don't lose much if you just run a few.

Yes, but they are small, just like sona's. It's not a soraka heal for like 300 with 125 armor buff.

If you're going all in, that small of a heal will rarely make a difference.

Once she gets 6 though, her ult range is really quite far, and 3 stuns means cleanse can't keep up. But I see your point.

She actually has 3 stuns though. the line stuns for a bit, the shield stun, and her ult.

What about leona? She is pretty much a support ,without a place top or jungle so I'm wondering.

Anyway I've had quite a bit of success running her bot with vayne. It's risky but fun. So many stuns hehe. somewhat weak to anyone with lots of sustain, but if against somebody like janna or alistar or even sona, 2 stuns + knockback into a wall is a guaranteed kill.

DAE think Riot should put a little work into their client? by Djungelvralin leagueoflegends

[–]Praxis1452 1 point2 points ago

Not even just DC's, but also stuff like making games with people can turn out to be a real nightmare when certain people can't see each other in group and someone randomly gets kicked and you have a team of 5 but only 4 are in queue, or you do have 5 and you get into a game but people can't see champ picks or pick their own. The list really does go on and on.

How about how goddamn slow the client is with regards to looking at champions or buying runes etc. Basically anything with the store is a huge pain to deal with. I don't understand why it should take 2-3 seconds or a lot longer just to load skins, or champs, or runes and sorting them is just as laggy.

LoL would be a much better game if the client wasn't the worst client I've ever used for any game I've played.

What masteries/runepage and item build do YOU go as Fizz? by a11ydimin leagueoflegends

he has so many ap ratios, I don't understand why you'd take fizz and go tanky dps? Is there something I'm missing?

Atleast go tanky ap no?

I mean irelia q and w is similar to fizz so I can see the tankydps thing, but irelia's w doesn't scale whereas fizz's does. Not to mention a whole .7, .7, .75, 1 on qwer respectively.

In terms of masteries, I go 21/9/0. I grab all the ap and put 2 points into atkspd as well as the magic pen 10%.

Atkspd reds; flat armor yellow mr/lvl blues or flat mr blues. Could change it to flat ap as well or ap/lvl flat ap quints.

I think that although he's bursty, his w just adds so much damage that I go attack speed reds, but perhaps that's not best. I'm not sure.

Overall his ap ratio is amazing. .7 on his q, .35 x 2 on his w. .75 on his e, and 1.0 on his r. And the fact that his .7 ratio on his active w is applied to his autoattacks make him really scary mid-late game on anything but tanks as even ignoring his dot, he's doing a good 70+50+AP*.7 on each autoattack. If you get just like 150 ap, which I don't feel like is unreasonable, that's 120+105=225 + base ad per AA + the 8% of missing health dot.

While you can build him pure ap, I feel like a mix of ap and atkspd would be best. Specifically malady, + rod of ages. + some ap or survivability.

Most difficult champion to master? by MutantCrowin leagueoflegends

[–]Praxis1452 -10 points-9 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I feel like cassiopeia is a harder version of anivia to master. The q stun radius is rather large, I mean it's a pretty big ice ball. It's similar to cass, except anivia is a burst caster and cassio is not. If you hit your e and the poison isn't there the penalty is huge. Your kinda dead in the water for quite a bit. With anivia if she doesn't hit her q it sucks, but her ultimate still provides the frozen effect to allow her to land her w. And it's a big aoe. similar to cassio's w, but that's also harder to land and expands with time.

Maybe, it's just me, but with cassio I have to consistently keep track of poisoning people in teamfights, which is an issue for me. In lane I do fine, but when spell effects are flying everywhere missing my poison and using an e really really hurts.

My jungle route is similar to stonewall's but slightly different because I'm not using all atkspd runes. I find that kind of off putting personally because he seems to start with vamp scepter and make it work, but without those runes I don't think it's possible to start with vamp.

My way works only with atkspd reds, flat armor yellows, mr/lvl blues, and armor pen quints.

12/0/18 3 points in sunder, and spell pen

then relatively standard stuff up to 2 points in cd reduction.

cloth 5 pots start at mini's get a decent leash, smite them. Wraiths, wolves, blue. back boots + 1-2 pots, minis, wraiths, wolves, red. If you have pots left you can gank with red, or back and complete the route again to get 6. Or wait in bushes and get 6 then gank with red.

Fastest I've done it is exactly how fast stonewall does it with all atkspd runes, which is like 6:20 I think. I think I got 6 faster in 1 game but I killed someone.

wriggles => merc Treads > phage/giants belt => frozen mallet => wits end => atma's.

I want to get rageblade, but I tend to feel that without a built in slow or cc of some form like frozen mallet, you can't really get those autoattacks in. And once I get frozen mallet I tend to right for atma's because it synergizes so well.

Decent damage, massive aoe, terrible ganking without red buff or exhaust up compared to other junglers though.

Very fast clear time and with wriggles and atkspd and your W you can push lanes so fast.

I actually find it pretty easy to counterjungle people like Lee Sin at my level, atleast, because whenever I see them on the map ganking, I go and steal everything with my speed buff and get out.

I almsot always keep up with my solo lanes in terms of lvl with her. And She's really good with her ult, but unless the lane has some form of cc, I can't really kill them most of the time.

edit: smite, flash are summoners, but I've been trying smite, exhaust. Doesn't feel as good personally, because I often open with my ult and use all my cd's. Then chase for a bit, and then flash and finish them off for whatever they've got left. With exhaust if they flash, I can't catch them with exhaust, or I exhaust them first but can't kill them fast enough before they get away.

I like brutalizer on her for cdr but I find it hard to fit in. The phage provides a slow and more dmg and more health whereas i'm pretty squishy without it or giants belt.

Have you or anyone tried any other jungle routes?

I usually go mini's(smite), wraiths, wolves, blue(I get really low, like 50hp but I never really have to stop on my jungle), back, mini's, wraiths, wolves, red. back or gank. Once you get wriggles.

Of course I don't have exhaust so really I need red to gank at all. I feel so vulnerable without any flash though.

My best clear time on her is also like 6:08 to lvl 6 or something like that. I'm not sure how fast that is, but I was waiting for camps at certain. point I was running atkspd reds, armor pen quints, and flat armor yellows and mr/lvl blues.

In terms of masteries I've got 12/0/18. Just grabbing a few percent more movement speed and some cdr. grab the 15% spell pen and 3 points in sunder to get extra 6 armor pen making up for the fact that I took atkspd reds.

Anyone think I should do anything different? Just wondering.

edit: in terms of itemization, I go wriggles, merc treads, but along the way I grab brutalizer for the cd reduction, ad, and arp. Thinking maybe I should grab wits end first hmmm.

I think the amount of frustration it creates when playing against him is out of line compared to other champs, which remains my original point. I didn't say he's OP and needs a nerf because he's just that good or first ban good. I meant he needs a nerf to that skill because if riot cared about fun, they would do it. In fact they should probably change/buff something to compensate, and I'd be fine with that.

not even a second, after his fear, I'm sure that's not annoying, nor helpful. Right. More excuses.

Also, rammus needs to get close to land his taunt. Powerball is stopped by minions. aoe ult does not nearly do as much as fiddle. It's not accompanied by a flash. I also don't have a huge problem with his ult. It can be silenced etc.

Mainly the amount of hard cc he has and its duration.

Silence is still effective. 35% tenacity doesn't mean it isn't. You can't pretend it's not there.
