I used to have this potted plant in my room on a shelf. One morning I woke up and sort of noticed there was stuff all over my floor. My eyes were still blurry so I thought it must be dirt. That somehow my plant had fallen off the shelf and made a mess. As my eyes began to focus I realized what I thought was dirt was in fact clumps of feathers and that my cat had brought me a giant jay bird, whose body was lying a little beyond the feathers. Also, for some reason whenever my pets die my parents think it's best to tell me right after I wake up. Dad: Good morning. Me: (stretch) Morning dad. Dad: Sleep okay? Me: yup. Dad: That's good. Your lizard is dead. Me: What? Dad: Breakfast? Me: . . . yeah. Okay, I'll have eggs.
