"they go down with the lights on" instead of of "big ole jet airliner." thought that until about 2 years ago :/

Wow, that is all such valuable information! Thank you so much! As far as piccolo goes, I own one and will let her know she should shift focus a little and practice both until she's used to it. I will contact the band department and see if they have any advice or music to share. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to explain!

Oh my options are limited to the two..and as I said somewhere else in the post, I'm not a fair-weather fan by any means. I am only asking the question now since I just recently found this subreddit! Oh and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I love the discussions and respect (more often than not) for other redditor's teams.

Yes, that is how I felt about it but have reservations considering I didn't graduate from there and didn't want to come off as fake somehow. And this, in no way, has anything to do with their current ranking, I married into an LSU family - fans through the good and the bad.

Does anyone have any experience with returning to college later in life? Do scholarships exist for non-traditional students? by [deleted]in AskReddit

It was the best decision I've ever made. Good luck! And again, let me know if there are any other questions I might be able to help with.

Oh, and before I graduated, one guy in our organization was compiling a list (actually turned out to be binders full) of scholarships targeted at our demographic!!

Where I went, it turned out that more than 33% of the student population was "non-traditional". There's a national organization and many many colleges have an organization for students who are either older, parents, or ex-military (those were the conditions to join our organization). I wasn't too old (at least I like to think that) but the ages in our group ranged from around 24 to 60. They were a great group of people who became a support group for me. I don't know what your circumstances are but you'll likely find someone there to connect with.

I went back to school after having 2 kids and being a housewife for a while. My advice to you would be to get in touch with the Non-traditional student organization on which ever campus you plan on attending. They will have a stock pile of scholarship information and you will find a group of people with similar circumstances. If I can help with anything else, please let me know!
