Im in 11th grade in High School, and almost everyday our class is called immature by the senior class (Small school with like 200 people so it never got ugly). I think they are just jealous that we can have fun with ANYTHING and they are more concerned with being "the perfect class"

I have a couple theories about it but most of them I can't really back up and are just opinion so feel free to discard what I think.

I don't think we have them BECAUSE we have highways. It really wouldn't work to shut down all the highways for a year or more to build train tracks that might not even be successful. Then what? Destroyed highways and no way to get around.

Another thing is Americans typically are obsessed with cars. If we get rid of cars it would seem like we are taking away some American culture to some. I dunno, honestly I wish someone could snap their fingers like a magician and make trains appear.

Ha, I actually talk to my friends about this sometimes.

I think America should adopt a train system like in Japan, but on a larger scale. Replace highways with trains, travel across America for like $50. Make them electric powered too, much faster and much cheaper. But dammit America, I just want you to turn into a liberal Japan to be honest.
