This story starts with me being 18 or 19 and in college. It probably won't end how you expect it to.

My life had turned to absolute shit when I left the town I grew up in to go to school on the coast. I had a couple of friends, but I couldn't control my life. I hadn't been able to go through with the promise I had made to myself the year before, I wasn't able to get my depressed self to go to classes, or to make friends, or anything. I was absolutely miserable. And to top it off, of course my girlfriend had just broken up with me. That night was awful. One of the absolute worst days of my life. I ended up wandering around campus at 2 in the morning, getting stopped by campus police and told to call the suicide hotline if I needed help... I ended up finding my way to the courtyard and crying invisible tears for about an hour while I listened to The Doors. When the song was over, I... don't remember why but something made me stop and think about everything. About my life and about what to do with it. I realized I had to grab life for myself. Commit to one thing or have everything fall apart around me. I looked up at the sky, smiled, and went back to my room.

I found a coin, a Steelix from the Pokemon TCG. I wrote down "Tails, I will do my fucking work and graduate with my friends. Heads, I will drop it and come out as trans to my family."

I flipped it, and before I even knew it was heads, had tears in my eyes.

It was the only decision in my entire life I can say without any doubt in my mind that I do not regret.
