Yeah this is exactly what I was thinking. I mean people have overblown his role in the whole thing, his reputation is tainted, he got fired. He just had an awful end to his life and I really feel bad for him because in my opinion, his "crime" is a small one.

I mean I'm sure he was heckled constantly in public, bothered by the media, bad mouthed by peers who escaped from the controversy untouched. Rough ending indeed.

Just my thoughts on the subject:

I honestly think this is best for us. Yes, we need more offense, and I wouldn't have been unhappy if they did sign Fielder, but you have to think of the other factors. We just made a big signing with a player coming off a hot season and post-season (Werth), and he has disappointed so far. Can the franchise really afford another monstrous blow their bank account?

Signing players after they're coming off of one of their best seasons almost always means your overpaying for them.

Not to mention he's coming into a hostile NL East, and will not only be expected to perform at top-level but also be a team leader for the younger guys.

I use TSM a lot, but when one of the pro players uploads garbage like this and it's pushed to the top, it makes me rage a little inside.
