I will never trust anything from Metacritic again. by Geogunin Diablo

That's the thing...Superbrothers IS scored as a PC game on the website. That is why Metacritic is flawed. Based on it's scoring system, Superbrothers is considered BETTER PC game than Diablo III.

I am more confused as to how Superbrothers: Sword and Sorcery (some boring iphone/ipad port...which I have played) got a higher score and is above D3 on the list right now, than what D3's actual score is.

The thing is...I played Superbrothers: Sword and Sorcery on my iphone. I actually tried to get into it for about 30 minutes and then quit and deleted it because it is crap. How a game like that gets a 90 in in the PC category is beyond me...

Oh I am not worried about the user scores, but the fact that the green "metascore" for an iphone/ipad port to PC is higher than D3...is just plain wrong; in every way, shape, or form.

I am just irritated by the green score. There is just something essentially wrong with that...or most likely the PC reviewers contributing to the metascores.

I really just got irritated by the fact that the the green score for a game ported from an iphone/ipad is higher than Diablo III and Mass Effect 3 in the PC game category. There is just something essentially wrong with that.

Just wanted to post this for people who think we have to be either agnostic-theist or agnostic-atheist. Along with the definition, notice it is also a noun. by Karma_hates_mein agnostic

It is nothing but semantics of the definition. I will never claim to be an "atheist", because it can be interpreted as an absolute belief, which I do not have concerning a god.

Having to choose between agnostic-theist or agnostic-atheist is a cop out created by those atheists who want to combat religion, and want to try and get more people on their side, plain an simple. I had this discussion on /r/atheism. Basically, I was told that if I don't believe in a god of one of the religions that exist on this planet, then I am an agnostic-atheist. That really conflicts with the definitions. I consider myself a pure agnostic. No "atheist" involved. The topic is so complex and currently unknowable. What if the current religions on this planet were based on an interaction with a real being who was the manifestation of "god"? We can't prove it, so therefore I cannot say whether or not I believe in one of the gods of the currents religions on this planet. I want to believe that there is something more to our existence on this planet, but there is no proof for, or against it yet. Therefore, I am purely an agnostic.

Why are most of the news outlets saying that Ron Paul is a no show, or that he is a not a viable candidate, despite consistently having 5000+ people rally's across the country, more than Romney or Gingrich, or Santorum?

The problem is the unions are protecting the bad teachers. I love how the "big brother" references always pop whenever cameras are involved. Like I said before, the classrooms in public schools are public environments, and the intention of the filming is to protect the parents right to know what is happening to their children in STATE-run facilities, aka, PUBLIC schools only. I still say this should not apply to private schools. The teachers in private schools are held a lot more accountable because they can be fired a lot easier. Most public school teachers belong to unions, which protect bad teachers in ridiculous ways. Filming classes in state-run schools just give the parents one way holding teachers accountable for what happens to their children in a state-run environment.

But bad teachers who belong to unions are not afraid of losing their job...they need to be.

"That's a great idea. Unfortunately schools are intended to be abusive. They are about schooling, breaking the child's spirit[...]" ...nope.

Because in private schools, the parents are PAYING a lot of money for their child's education, therefore, paying the teachers; there is your accountability. Private schools still can film classes, but that should remain up to the administration because the state would not be paying for it. "Why hire me if you're worried I'll abuse children?", that's the problem. In PUBLIC schools, the STATE hires teachers, and the teachers are protected by unions. Most parents don't even have much say in who is supervising their children all day. I still believe this should not apply to private schools, because there, you are actually choosing your teachers and PAYING them.

"I think it's partially parents' responsibility to know what's going on in your child's classroom" ..and wouldn't it help the parents if they were able to see what actually happens to their children in the classroom? ...like in the video

I love how filming a class for the parents instantly turns into CCTV's in public restrooms.

Not publicly available...available to only certain parties; parents and certain school administrators.

Public classrooms aren't private, they are run by the state and teachers are protected by the unions. Recording the classrooms is for the sake of the parents, and viewing the footage should be VERY restrictive to only parents and certain school administrators. Private classrooms in private schools are private; and should be exempt to this.

Some teachers like to record their classes. I don't see how recording the classroom would be a bad thing. It would expose many problems that even you as a teacher may not be noticing. Like I said in another reply, I am not saying there should be someone sitting in a security booth observing everything that takes place; the classes should just be recorded for future review. Of course there should also be rules behind the viewing of the footage so that it is not abused, and private schools should be exempt. If there are unions protecting teachers, then there should be transparency protecting the students and the parents.

I am not saying there should be someone sitting in a security booth observing everything that takes place. I am just saying that the classes should be recorded for future review in case it is needed for the sake of the parents, NOT the government. Of course there would need to be rules behind the viewing of the footage so that it is not abused, but I think that transparency in public schools would expose a lot of flaws in the system. Private schools should be exempt.

That is not Big Brother, in fact, you can argue it is the opposite. Shipping your children off to an institution where you have absolutely no supervision of them, and have no idea what they are learning outside of what is being "told" to you can be argued to be state-sponsored censorship. Allowing the parents to know everything that goes on in the classroom negates that. This should only apply to PUBLIC schools, which contain 20+ individuals in a PUBLIC environment. The footage of the classroom should only be available to parents and school administrators...no one else; and should be protected. Cameras in classroom is not the same as cameras in your home. If law requires parents to send their children off to school, then law should protect their knowledge of what happens there.
