It does sound like your keyboard is the issue. If you can swap it out with another one and give that a go that would be worth a shot.

yeah it's just a bug. I haven't figured out what triggers it. AFAIK the only fix is to restart the game.

Watch some streams. Most streamers are cappers. Zoidbergenstein and APcizzle are two that come to mind. As for a loadout, cappers almost universally use: Spinfusor, Light AR, Energy Pack, Reach, and Egocentric. There are uses for the Thrust Pack but in general energy pack is better. And shameless plug: My team's capper is pretty good. His VODs of our matches are here [here]

Rundown of positions:

Offense:

LO: Light Offense, usually Soldier or Raider. Your job is to keep the flag stand clear and distract anyone defending it.

Cap: ... Caps the flag. Needs to be really good at skiing and using routes to get 250+ grabs.

HO: Heavy Offense. Doesn't usually get too close to the base. Usually Jug, bombards the flagstand and base assets with mortars/mirvs.

Defense:

LD: Light Defense. Covers most of defense. Chasers as Pathfinder. Techs, maybe soldiers.. I dunno I don't play defense :P

Sent: Snipes.. needs to be REALLY good.

HoF Heavy on Flag. Doombringer with Superheavy perk that just sits on the flag and prevents capper.

I probably forgot some but that's a general rundown.

If you don't have any issues moving the mouse on the desk and you never have any 'hiccups' in the detection then that's not too bad. The QCK+ is really nice for the price though. It literally takes up half my desk lol.

Also I just bought the LMG for the Jug and.. if you play Jug at all.. it's definitely worth it.

And on your setup for the Soldier, Just remember that the Eagle Pistol IS a hitscan weapon, so click ON your opponent, don't lead at all, while the AR is NOT, it is a projectile weapon, so you do have to lead. Fire in short bursts. Also check out this guide to dueling from SexyKate (Trust me, she knows what she's talking about, she DESTROYED me last night).

1800 and 30? Holy shit? I used 1800 and 15 for a while. I just bought a SteelSeries QCK+ mousepad and lowered my sensitivity and it has made a huge difference. I'm now using 800dpi with an in-game sensitivity of 6 and playing much better.

Also 30 hours is not 'playing for awhile' :P I'm at like 80 hours and wouldn't call that awhile.

I'd recommend playing with the Raider's SMG or the Soldier's AR in Arena. The skills you learn in arena won't transfer to CTF well but it will let you learn how to lead in a small environment. After that hop up to TDM and try chasing the flag carrier with a bullet weapon. Then you'll be ready for CTF :)
