Intake and Lights For 96 Neon. Recommend?

Also the K&N I saw only says SOHC compatibility, which worries me. :/

I've seen the AEM and K&N kits. Apparently the ICEMAN was really good but is out of production. I've been trying to find one, even if used. I don't want to have to re-locate the battery like one of the K&Ns I saw would require me to do.

Straight up man, that is WAY advanced for me. I really don't think I can do that. Is there a place to get them pre-done with decent quality/price? Should I see if someone in my area does retrofits? There are a few worked up neons around.

And I respect that man, I really do. But if throwing a few hundred bucks into a vehicle I underpaid for by thousands is going to make me happy, I'd like to do it since I have to hang on to it for awhile.

I don't really know enough to know how to go about retrofitting, and I very much like the cosmetics on those lights. Is there a guide or something to show me where to get the parts I'd need to assemble something cosmetically similar but of higher quality?

So where could I get some nice lights if I don't want to just replace the bulbs? I want new housings, the ones on the car, even after getting cleaned up a bit are still in rough shape.

Not going for power, at least not right now. I have my heart set on a 300ZX but its going to be at least a year before I can get one. So in the meantime, I'd like to throw an intake and some lights on the Neon, and I'll probably get rid of it when I have the Z up and running. I'm just here asking for advice on what to look for for good lights and a good intake.

And I'm not trying to make it have a flashy number of horses, I'm not going to see how fast it does laps, or go race some kid in his suped up Civic down the highway. It isn't a sports car at all. But I'd like to snazz it up a bit, at least in cosmetics, because its my car and that's how I want it. All I'm asking for is advice on parts, nothing more.

Totally understand what you're saying, but it IS a Neon. If I had my pick I'd have a 95 or 96 300ZX and be going toward the classier, more subtle route. But for an old Neon, I'd like some nice lights and things to stick on it.

Yeah, it happens. I'm still a total gaming nerd, and a lot of them are too, its just the drugs come first.

This town sucks so to keep things fresh, me and the gf try to find places that aren't fuck-all away to go see. NYC isn't terribly far and we've gone to shows and things there and had a great time.

Hah, with pre-gaming I doubt that'd be feasible. :P But no, I'd never lend them money, not that they ask. However I was the last one of us to get a license/car, so I always paid more than my share of gas as a thank-you. I try to be a good dude like that.

Totally understandable. My only complaint with that is that I went through all the trouble of organizing, physical set up, getting everyone patched, updated, and installed, and knowing that this was an event I was making happen, they still did things they knew I wasn't okay with. I felt really disrespected.
