What teen hasn't been crying their eyes out over a girl? I think we've all been there. I remember being that age, and ya know, what makes it worse is the lack of experience. As adults, we're a lot more jaded, at a lot less feeling and trusting because shit like this happens over and over again. When you're a teen, you're balls to wall, really to offer your heart not knowing the pain it can cause. Eventually we all learn.

Tell your son to guard his heart, tell him there are females (a ton of them) who will be reckless with his feelings.

Libertarians think that everyone should be free to do as they will provided they do not infringe upon the rights of others.

Isn't that dangerous from the Christian perspective? That means a woman can have 1000 abortions, and somehow that's ok. Freedom is a great thing, but since when are Christians interested in freedom?

Christians follow a divine set of laws, those laws do NOT change. Libertarians like freedom, but that freedom allows for all the premarital sex you want. It allows for all the gay sex you want. Those two things stand in stark contrast to what the Bible commands it's followers to do. How can Christian Libertarians deal with two contrasting philosophies? One that says do what you want as long as it doesn't hurt others. The other that says you must follow a certain moral code, which there are many things you cannot do.

That's fine, I'll give you that. But where in the Bible does it show homosexuality in a favorable light. Where does Jesus praise homosexuals, show them as exhalted, glorifed, etc?

Because everything I find shows being gay as being wrong.

I never said it had anything to do with the translation. And at no point have I ever suggested so. I've been just reading about different things associated with the Bible. I was talking to a guy at work and he was telling me about how KJV was the word of God perfected, and I was just curious about King James himself. So I looked him up, and was surprised to find out he was gay. I would have figured he would have an exemplary life as a Christian.

I could have written your post, only, I have everything I want and then some. I'm in a fantastic relationship and have two children, but there is still a piece of me that always feels lost, for what appears to be no reason at all.

I have no real advice for you, other than just to say you're not alone. Other people hurt, even the ones who have everything they want. I think in the end humans are frail beings, that are easy to fuck up, and difficult to put back together. One traumatic (even one that's self inflicted) event can follow a person all their life, it can haunt them, hurt them and just fuck everything up all around.

It's no wonder we have shows like Jerry Springer, showcasing the dysfunction. And we also have shows like Oprah and Dr.Phil trying to heal the dysfunction. Because isn't that what Oprah is with her "live your best life", and "Oprah Lifeclass" bullshit? A bunch of suburban soccer moms who are half broken from some traumatic event from the past? Hell, isn't that who we all are?

This isn't strange, but one of the few things that really stand out in my mind.

I remember I was with an ex, and it was our first time. And as we start having sex, I remember she looks at me with this degree of sincerity I haven't seen since, and says "I've waited so long for this".
