TIL Florida Road Rangers will bring you gas if you run out. They also carry jumper cables, oil, radiator fluid, etc. by mhbaker82in todayilearned

The Road Rangers are the closest thing to actual superheroes we get here in Florida.

So lower is better, right? Like golf? States ranked by gun laws. by Oobertin guns

It is becoming increasingly rare that I find reasons to actually be happy to live in Florida. Thankfully, tied for 41 isn't so bad.

My boyfriend of 2 years just broke up with me because I'm not Indian, and he knew it would never work from the beginning. Dear Redditors- what are the most crappy break up reasons/excuses you have ever heard? by OkaysOkaysin AskReddit

[–]Dr_Somehow 2 points3 points ago

Girl 1: Dumped me for NOT being psychologically abusive to her. Girl 2: Dumped me because she never cared about me, and just got into our year and a half long relationship so that another guy would leave her alone. Girls 3 and 4 are no better, but didn't have as bullshit of excuses.

In defense of Shizune's Route (Poss. Spoilers) by Catalyst6in katawashoujo

[–]Dr_Somehow 2 points3 points ago

I really liked Shizune's route, and it is actually my favorite. The writing, in my opinion, is no worse or better than any other route's, it is just different.

Her route is not the one for the conventional romantic. I personally value intense friendship more than conventional romance when it comes to "love" which Shizune's arc seems to emphasize. She isn't Hisao's lover, she is his best friend.

The issue in her route isn't conventional to dating sims either (hence this being more of a visual novel with choices) because the problem takes you out of focusing on Hisao and Shizune's relationship, or what is wrong with Shizune, and instead has the characters deal with Misha's issues, and how it affects the trio as a whole. Shizune is the static character of that arc, while Misha has the issues, and Hisao undergoes the most personal change.

I like the ending too, because it is so uncertain. It shows the doubt that people have when their life is about to change so completely as going off to college. Its also implied that Hisao is going to try to follow and keep up with Shizune, as she has ambitions and he doesn't really have any. Hisao and Shizune clearly love each other in this arc, but they do not need to constantly talk about how much they love each other (a side-effect of needing to really consider one's words, and not waste them while using sign-language) and their relationship just seems to work.

I came into this game as a sort of cynic, but Shizune's arc being my first arc made me really pleased. I wouldn't have continued if I had done Emi's or Lilly's as I originally was aiming for. Shizune's arc was a different take on relationships and it was good to see that.

It could be safe to say that it isn't "Shizune's Route" but I wouldn't call it "Misha's Route" either, as it focuses to completely on the three characters. It would be safer to call it the "Student Council Route."

No, we chased off the gypsies. We only have jugglers, pirates, dinosaurs, hippies, and other assorted oddities.

Check and see if there are any of the jugglers by the tree outside the bookstore. They are good people (for the most part) and are always willing to teach you something new.

What was the first route you took? by blod09in katawashoujo

[–]Dr_Somehow 2 points3 points ago

My first one was Shizune. I went in only knowing the character profiles on the developer's site, and was actually planning to go for Hanako. I ended up getting dragged into the game of Risk, and being a board game nerd, that won some points with me... This moment was the clincher though. (Not really spoilers, but fair warning that this is an in game screen grab) How could I say no to that face?

I played Shizune's first and of all of them, I like hers (or at least her character) the best.

Am I the only one who enjoyed Shizune's route? *Possible Minor Spoilers* by Santayin katawashoujo

[–]Dr_Somehow 1 point2 points ago

I love Shizune's character. Over all the story was great to me because it didn't just revolve around you and Shizune. It acknowledged that there was more to the world than just you and whatever girl you were pursuing (compare to Emi's route which is very focused on you and her).

thinking of starting a RSO by senatorpjtin ucf

[–]Dr_Somehow 0 points1 point ago

Getting a real RSO going is a weird process. It can go one of two ways. Either you are immediately accepted and made official (for instance, the Nerd Club) or you can be like the Juggling Club, which has been fighting for official status for over a year now.

Edit: This is just a word of warning from some first hand experience. Otherwise, the idea sounds great and I'm sure in such an engineering heavy campus, you shouldn't have problems with finding members. Heck, I'm a creative writing major and wouldn't mind checking it out, as I've been known to tinker.

Sersiously, hang out with Juggling Club, we're good people and don't care if you are any good at anything at all.

Italy police seize $6 trillion of fake U.S. T-bonds by twolf1in worldnews

[–]Dr_Somehow 1 point2 points ago

There is a lot to read. http://divinecosmos.com/start-here/davids-blog/995-lawsuit-end-tyranny

It reeks of conspiracy theory, but also has some viable, and even provable segments that are really thought provoking. Take it all with a grain of salt, but if you have a while to read, it is a fascinating one at least.

$6 Trillion in counterfeit US bonds found. Am I wrong for thinking this should be bigger news? by TiredArchiein worldnews

[–]Dr_Somehow 0 points1 point ago

Never said I believed it, just said it was an interesting read, and not "uninformed conspiracy theory talk" but instead somewhat informed conspiracy theory talk.

Frankly, I do not doubt that these could be counterfeit, but I also do not doubt the the government could be handing out fake looking bonds so they never need to pay back debts.

$6 Trillion in counterfeit US bonds found. Am I wrong for thinking this should be bigger news? by TiredArchiein worldnews

[–]Dr_Somehow -1 points0 points ago

There are some more informed conspiracies on the topic right now, actually.

""Alexa" revealed a variety of intriguing bits of inside information. This included the fact that at least four "fake" bond boxes are made, in the Philippines, for every real box.

Alexa also said that even the real boxes contain up to 20 percent counterfeit bonds. This way, any legitimate bond holder could be arrested at any time -- while the Secret Service makes off with the rest."

Source http://divinecosmos.com/start-here/davids-blog/1026-financial-tyranny-final

I'm not a conspiracy person, but I've been reading these as they come out, because a lot of the "facts" in the earliest parts are linked back to fairly reputable or provable sources. It brings up at least 3 other occurrences of "fake" bonds in such ludicrous amounts showing up. Frankly, I have my doubts on the whole thing, but it is an interesting enough read, and if it were true, the world would be a much more interesting place.

tl;dr: Illuminati steals gold, under the guise of giving bonds. Bonds look fake, so government calls them fake and doesn't need to pay out. Crazy conspiracy, but an interesting read.

Honestly Reddit, how's your day going? by ApolloBrowncoatin AskReddit

A happy Cake Day to you!

My day could be better. I was up until 6 writing a paper, and had to be up at 8 to get to class to turn it in on time. Class went well enough, and now I sit, waiting for my next class, with a delicious smoothie to keep my blood sugar up.
