Labor laws, by the way, are very protective of the worker. You can't simply fire a policeman for being suspected of corruption. You need pretty solid evidence and you can bet some of the higher ups will find ways to come up with evidence that proves their innocence.

I'm in Honduras and none of this has happened. The idea to purge the police came from the previous Defense minister, who was then fired by the President for wanting to do so. Congress is looking at laws to help weed out the corruption in the police, but because there are many congressmen tied to the cartels, there is little hope of it happening.

I live in a third world country and though religion is important here, I don't remember there ever being a fight about teaching evolution in class. That's all that's taught here.
