Aw, when I was growing up, beagles were my parents' dog of choice for us kids, because they were tough, friendly, playful, and not too big. But they were pretty bad about howling and disturbing the neighbors, plus they weren't the most clever dogs I ever had.

You may be sore tomorrow though. I'm glad you're okay. Even though your story is a total heartbreaking bummer, think how much worse it would have been if you or your cat was seriously hurt. If I had money, I'd send some your way to fix your baby, but I'm in the same boat. And my daughter just spilled orange juice into our laptop.

I wonder if they have vegan cheese in Atlanta yet. Hmmm.

Oh well. I've gotten to the point that I make my own whole wheat dough from scratch and put all kinds of good things on it such as nutritional yeast, beans, and steamed collard greens directly from the garden, and am now always disappointed when we go to pizza joints.

Edit: Just checked their website, and only some of the stores in the metro area offer vegan items. None nearby. But maybe it's coming?

I didn't know that. One time I asked a waiter there if I could have vegan pizza and he pointed out that was impossible, so I've just gotten sandwiches from there ever since.

This is really too bad. Southwest DeKalb is known nationwide for the prowess of their marching band, and there have never been any incidents of hazing. My oldest daughter was in the magnet program there her freshman year and she loved the school, but catching the bus so early in the morning and then coming home in the evening just about killed her.

That's what we have. But it's still better than Comcast, which, in the last year we had it, would completely stop working for 24-48 hours every couple of weeks. We'd have to call and get an appointment and then take off work to let them in, only to have them say that nothing was wrong.

Finally we switched to AT&T and cut off Comcast, and tried to go down to local channel only TV. So Comcast came by and cut off five feet of wire leading to our house.

They said that our wiring was causing problems throughout the neighborhood and it would cost us $150 to replace it.

So I told them that not only would we never again have Comcast in our home, even if a friend worked for Comcast and was only making a social visit, that friend would not be welcome in our home.

I hate them so very much.

For the record, I live in the area that would be Brookhaven and I'm opposed. I have no problem with being in unincorporated DeKalb, nor would I mind being annexed by Chamblee. But to start a new town from scratch smacks too much of rich white people taking their tax money back from poor and minorities a la Sandy Springs, Johns Creek, and Dunwoody.
