While human happiness is important I feel that scientific progress and exploration is more important

why?

well considering the US put deposed the democratically elected Iranian president and replaced him with a military dictator in 1953, directly leading to the 1979 revolution that put the Ayatollah in power, it appears that the evil of Iran are entirely caused by the actions of the US.

"The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same." - Marjane Satrapi

no I don't. Indeed I likely work significantly less hard than the poorest on earth, who are relegated to the most backbreaking work for the longest hours under the poorest conditions merely to scrape by

How does R/anarchism feel about Guns? by SiddarthaVaderin Anarchism

I have no nationalism, nationalism is bad for your health. I just dig the Bohemian culture that my family is rooted in. Kinda hard to be nationalist about a country that keeps changing.

On a personal level, I love them. Love looking at them, shooting them, taking them apart, talking about them.

On a philosophical level, Catalonia wasn't defended for 2 years from Franco's fascists by pacifism (and believe me I'm all for pacifism) or gun free zones, it was defended by union workers with rifles

as for drugs, I have friends who are straight edge, and I respect that. I also have friends who mess around pretty heavily with prescriptions, which I respect. Personally I enjoy exploring my mind with psychedelics, and of course weed, I don't like messing around with addictive or potentially harmful substances personally but you can do with your body as you please

Why are there so many conservatives in the US, given that rationally speaking it is against their interests? by penguinofevilin DebateaCommunist

[–]Denny_Craine 0 points1 point ago

Marx and Engels referred to it as the ideological superstructure. Ideology causes the proletariat to work against their own interests
