American Heart Association: Tasers can cause death by allliein science

[–]Clayburn 0 points1 point ago

Again we're back to my original point. It's the same fucking thing. If you're such an expert on the English language, then you should know about synonyms. I'm not saying that cops don't carry guns. The other guy stated correctly that tasers have replaced guns. You chimed in that it's an alternative, as if you somehow now hold a contrary position. It's the same fucking deal. They use an alternative to guns. That alternative has replaced guns in that situation.

Before: I saw the guy running. I pulled out my gun and shot him.

Now: I saw the guy running. I pulled out my taser and shot him.

Notice how the alternative is being used and now replaces the original.

As I said at the start, you're an idiot. There's really no point in arguing because you are an idiot. I should have stuck with my gut instinct about you and your idiocy.

Hence tasers are a replacement for guns. What the fuck are you even arguing? In and on? That's your point, is it?

In and on are the same thing. A police officer can easily shoot anyone in a crowd or fire on a crowd. It's simply not a good practice because of, you know, the crowd. That's why they use other shit instead. A guy in a crowd, you smack with a stick. Or you hit him with a rubber bullet. Or smash him with your ballistic shield. But when he runs, you taser him.

A gun can be deployed on a crowd too. It's just not the right choice in that situation. Also, crowd control means a strategy for dealing with a crowd, not limited to, but including, choice of weapons.

I don't know of this one.

Tasers are not for effective crowd control. They are for fleeing suspects. Rather than shoot them with a gun, the police officer shoots them with a taser.

For crowd control, riot gear, batons, pepper spray and rubber bullets are ideal.

Edit: Guns and tasers are range weapons. Crowd problems usually result in close-quarters combat.
