By starting to grow some balls and realizing that to you, you are the most important being on this planet. This is what everyone else needs to see as well.

I lost the 'love of my life' not even two weeks ago, but quite soon, like you, I realized how harmful she was to me, to my health and to my attitude towards things in general. I once told her 'I'd give my life for you".. and in some aspects, I did. Right now I don't have too many friends anymore, because I became occupied with her, even when she started meeting some f*cked up dude behind my back. I became so occupied with her that I didn't even pursue any freetime activities anymore. I stopped jogging, quit playing guitar and keyboard, even abandoned a lot of software projects (I'm a huge nerd.. :D That's a death sentence for me..). When she dumped me, we both knew we weren't meant for each other, but still, it hurt so much. So I let it hurt for two, three days. After that I told myself, now it's time to fight. Fight for what you really, truly want to be. Become what you want to be. And honestly, that doesn't necessarily mean being in a relationship. For the first couple days I thought it could not get any worse than not being in a relationship.. after thoroughly thinking about what my actual issues with her and the world in general were, I came to realize that these issues were merely blockades made up by my mind. There really is nothing you can't and won't accomplish if you set your mind to it.

Like IsrHokie suggested, occupy your mind with other stuff. And if you're looking for single women in general, you can not seriously tell me that there's not one good-looking, single woman where you live. Just go out, enjoy yourself and most of all: Don't regret a single thing you do. I regret way too much in my past, but right now I'm telling myself "Wtf are you doing?? Why did you even do something if you're regretting it already?" Right now I'm not giving a single fuck about anyone or anything, I'm simply enjoying who I am and doing whatever the fuck I want.

Tomorrow night I'm going out, gonna grab some girls for the first time in over two (!) years. Why? Because I chose to do so, because that's what I want to do. No fear of being rejected, no anticipation of any sexual/romantic encounters I might have. Just nothing. Set my mind to getting some girl(s), but I'm not anticipating anything. And why is that? Because I forced myself to think that way, because I am still forcing myself to forget every single thing about her, every single shitty fucking thing. And the more I think about it, the more I want to get out and live the fabulous live I've been missing over the last two years.

It's not easy and sometimes I'm still getting some heartache when I see a picture of her or accidentally see her in a Facebook group we once both joined (did so just today).. but I'm constantly telling myself FUCK HER! She fucked up my life real bad, and I was a huge pussy for not being able to take control of it until now. But here I am, taking control. Once and forever!
