Movie theater employee here. Sometimes when I'm walking in on movies I'll start clapping after some random scene to see if they all start clapping. Works almost half of the time and almost always works after the movie.

I do this all the time. I work at a movie theater and part of my job is to go in the auditoriums. I always slowly reach for the handle and when my hand gets close I grab it an open it really fast. I don't know where I got this fear, it's never actually happened.
