They've had it only a few years ago (1-2 years ago). It might just be seasonal.

Toph's right hand is preparing to strike. She takes that pose a few times in the series. I think she does a move like that during one of the fights in "The Blind Bandit".

As a tall male w/ a short male friend I just had my world shattered into what short guys have to put up with! Why is society so cruel? by MrTrampStampin AskReddit

Cooking: Guitar for non-college students.

That's probably a solid hobby for maybe a female-heavy population, and it also carries significant amount of skill points with you to impress any woman.

From the sound of it, you seem interesting enough. I feel that GalacticInquisitor's advice meant to push for increase in opportunities to showcase yourself, through talking and socializing. Something like cooking gives you enough to talk about, and opportunities to open a little deeper.

Well, DO you have interests outside of tech and scifi? Have you tried many other hobbies? I don't mean to be condescending at all; I'm just curious about your exposure to other activities.

I've always found myself too interested to stick to one set of hobbies. I live engineering, which is pretty male heavy, but I still find some time to get involved with some gender-balanced hobbies. Some of the more gender-balanced hobbies I get involved with are Ultimate Frisbee, running, and biking. I'm a short guy, at 5'4", healthy enough to be decently athletic, but I'm definitely nothing amazing. But I feel like those are hobbies that a lot of people can get into, given a little time, and you'd be surprised. The communities of casual sport players outside of college are very warm and welcoming of people of any level, from my experience.

You aren't glued to those particular hobbies, are you? Couldn't you get involved in a more gender balanced hobby if you are so inclined in meeting people and starting relationships?

Sorry, but I find this to be HIGHLY false. As a short Asian guy at 5'4", this "ninja factor" you refer to makes me SO invisible to the ladies that I get NO acknowledgements at any party I attend from any girl. My keys to the ladies are my great speaking abilities and slim body, but any place where I can't talk to a girl, I will have no chance.

I don't think girls look at short Asian guys and think "What a ninja! I'd hit that!" I think short Asian guys are quickly looked over, perhaps as much as any other short guy. Sure, it may not be unusual to see a short Asian guy, but just because it seems near-normal, short is rarely seen as a benefit.

I thought that it was just a psych experiment about how the brain works, or rather, how the brain doesn't work. I feel that any application to drivers and cyclists would be after the fact.

With a last name like "Li" or "Kim" or "Chang", it's kind of hard to hide it, even if you don't check the box.

edit: To your "question", yes. It is legal, which is why they offer the option.

I'm pretty sure that's anecdotal. I understand that the UC schools are commonly seen as overly represented in Asians, but it's one state school system that is NOT representative of the general university system in the United States. There are plenty of other counter examples. Purdue University, for one.

Also, I'd like to see where you're getting your information from about UC schools. From my understanding, UC schools do not take race into account, due to legislation.

edit: Actually, I realized, I have no idea what you are talking about. What am I wrong about?

Over representation by the group does not imply that any benefit for the individual. In the case of affirmative action, it harms the individual's chances of getting into a university, even more so than it harms a white person's chances.
