Yeah I kept hoping for something to happen but it was so slow and painful to read! I had to put it down after like 100 pages of nothing and I didn't read anything for months.

Are you kidding? You just wrote a perfectly eloquent and well organized paragraph. Not to mention those questions you had at the beginning were astounding. If you want to write a book you could perfectly do it, just do it for yourself and not to impress anyone.

Goodreads is also a very good source of reviews, I like having the ability to follow reviewers that you find insightful, not to mention your friends' opinions as well.

I'd actually like the story in the series to be different from the books to a certain extent. It adds the drama of not knowing who is going to die all over again.

I agree, just read it too. I felt it was toilsome and repetitive. There were a couple of good stories in it but most kinda sucked. The author's tone was exhausting and I there wasn't really a plot. Also the it ended badly for me. However I will agree that some of the points were interesting and I did finish the book so it can't be all that bad, even if you could have summed it up with a lot less beating around the bush. Overall 3.5 I'd say.
