This is made by Obsidian, a lot of the people who developed Fallout 2 and other good games that have similar moments to this.

That's because 3 and NV were console ports to PC, like Oblivion before them. FO1 and 2 were PC games.

Growth in slaughter of non-stunned animals is 'unacceptable' by igeldardin unitedkingdom

[–]Ajzzz 0 points1 point ago*

A minority of Muslims believe the animal shouldn't be stunned, the amount that have been slaughtered without stunning has increased according to the article, 90% of halal meat in Britain is stunned (although the reasons for this are certainly in part economic as it's quicker and easier), and 100% in New Zealand. As far as I'm aware no kosher meat is stunned.

Lib Dems ready to sabotage Coalition deal. Pressure on rebellious Tory backbenchers to support complete reform of House of Lords. by weblypistolin ukpolitics

[–]Ajzzz 35 points36 points ago

“What Conservative MPs are angry about is that Nick Clegg’s Bill [will] create in effect a new House of Commons to be elected by proportional representation. Less than a year ago, the British people rejected PR in a referendum.”

Eleanor Laing, Tory MP for Epping Forest

Are all MPs thick as shit? The British people weren't allowed to vote for proportional representation because they might have actually wanted it. What we did get to consider was a preferential system, but not the best preferential system, the worst one, which would have changed the results of perhaps at maximum 20 seats some of which might have been wiped out by the boundary changes anyway.

Not that most of the British public who voted no for AV actually understood what it was, because apparently learning about what you're voting against isn't as important as voting against whatever the party you don't like supports. Which is childish and immensely stupid, but then our whole political system seems to be based on it. It's not like MPs turn up to House of Commons debates, read bills, read research papers related to bills, or think for themselves at all.

I seem to remember right at the beginning Fargo was willing to put $100,000 if it reached its goal of $900,000. So it might be safely over $3m in funds.

ted.com has a video about a Korean that looks European.

Australian comedian John Safran has had many incredible "eurasian" girlfriends, he interviews them on his show Race Relations and collects some items from them for a "sniff test".

Not all Europeans have blonde hair when young, and those genes don't always get passed, they didn't with me. It's rarer but some intermediate people do look indistinguishable from people who are less intermediate.

Christian group books anti-gay ads to appear on buses by iASDin ukpolitics

[–]Ajzzz -2 points-1 points ago

Another example of how useless the ASA is, certain groups like religions get away with things that others would not, but these groups are the most likely to offer snake oil and bullshit "therapies".

Religions should be allowed to say engaging in same sex relations is wrong, under free speech rights (but this probably would get banned under the ASA rules) but they're allowed to pretend to know what they're doing when it comes to psychology.

This happened to me with Bioshock 2, after going through the auto update cycle twice, I had to download the GFWL client. 30 minutes of time wasted on something that gives me no benefit whatsoever. This shouldn't happen to paying customers.

The founders of Troika were all key members of the original Fallout dev team, including Tim Cain who started Fallout on his own and developed the foundation of the story and gameplay.

Some of the Troika team (e.g. Brian Mitsoda, designed and wrote the story for Bloodlines, wrote dialogue and voiced Romero and Ji Wen Ja) who created Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines came from BlackIsle, the devs who made Fallout 2 taking over from the Troika team who left Interplay, others formed their own company Obsidian who would later make the great game Fallout: New Vegas.

Then when Troika closed some of the devs including Brian Mitsoda (who later left and is making his own game Dead State) and Tim Cain went to Obsidian. Jason Anderson, another founder of Troika and dev on Fallout, joined inXile and is now making Wasteland 2, Fallout was the result of not having the Wasteland license, and it's the spiritual sequel of Wasteland. inXile was formed by Brian Fargo who founded Interplay where Wasteland, Fallout, & Fallout 2 were made. Obsidian will be working with inXile to develop Wasteland 2.

It's an incestuous tale, I call it wincest. Wasteland 2 should be awesome.

Well, [Derisive sound], how did a total moron, such as yourself, get past my defenses? Sorry, no idiot savants allowed, we like good conversation here. Jasmine, show our drooling friend the door please.

Loxley, such a great character. The talking heads in Fallout 1 are so good, the only game that comes close to it is Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.

If the NHS is going to be affected by this bill... When will people be denied healthcare access because of lack of funds/money? Or all this just scaremongering? by MoXriain unitedkingdom

[–]Ajzzz 0 points1 point ago

I didn't say we would have fewer.

It's pretty obvious that if you devolve power, and use private provision including services that include decision making because not all GP consortia are going to capable or willing to do the work involved in provisioning then there is going to be a lot more disparity.

GPs aren't and shouldn't be the ones deciding local priorities, they're not necessarily suited to the kind of work that's required: gathering data, interpreting data, accountancy, and they're still human, still vulnerable to self-interest or being wrong. GPs are just one part of health care in this country.

People already had to deal with health care disparity because of what the Tories and New Labour did in the past. I think the transition will be done by this time next year.

Seconded about co-op. It's a isometric (or similar angle) twin-stick shooter with strong puzzle and platforming elements, it's not top down.

GoL is probably the best game of the series, especially if you have someone to play with in co-op. I didn't think I was going to like it very much but I needed co-op games, but it's one of the best games I've played in the last 10 years.

Anniversary is a re-make (a particularly good one) of one of my favourite games, the original Tomb Raider was an incredible game, and the best in the original series. But like Legend it runs really badly on the PC and has loads of bugs. Combat has always been terrible in Tomb Raider games (except GoL), the only 3D platformer I like more than this game is Sands of Time, that also had awful combat.

Legend is not worth the time, the characters are annoying, the vehicle segments are terrible, the story is terrible, and the puzzles are lame.
