This post was originally a response to this thread but I thought it bore repeating.

According to this page -2010 NPMSRP Police Misconduct Statistical Report -Draft- - there were about 4861 reports of misconduct by police in 2010. That would be 400 a month or about 1 act of police misconduct every 108 minutes or so.

According to this page - FBI Crime in the US report 2010 - there were 1,216,248 violent crimes in the US in 2010. That would be about 101,354 per month or 1 violent crime every 26 seconds.

In other words, you are about 250 times more likely to be a victim of a violent crime than police misconduct.

According to those same sources, there were 247 fatalities associated with police misconduct while there were 14,748 homicides in the same time period. In short, you are about 60 times more likely to be murdered than to be killed by an act of police misconduct.

Comparatively - according to the CDC leading causes of death preliminary report for 2009 - pdf warning - there were fourteen causes of death more prevalent than homicide including heart disease(598,000), cancer(568,000), accidents(117,000), diabetes(68,504), influenza and pneumonia(53,000), and suicide(36,547).

tl;dr - You should be more afraid of fast food, cigarettes, cars, criminals, your own laziness and capacity for self-destruction than the police.

I know asmr is called Attention Sensory Meridian Response...from the title i feel like our asmr stems from a heavy flow of attention toward certain distinct sounds and movements...usually it is a pleasant feeling when this happens..but do you also think those unpleasant tingles people get can be a form of asmr as well...like a heavy flow of attention to unpleasant sounds and movement that causes a tingling that is almost painful?

I had given myself self-induced ED via pornography and over fappage. I had never gone more than a day with at least doing it twice in the last few years. This had led to broken relationships with past exes due to me unable to be intimate. Today, I've not only not opened a porn site, but not fapped. I can tell I'm not over the ED yet, I've been told that takes about a month to finally get it out of my head. But I've been feeling better, more confident, and have been getting more attention from women than usual because of it. Maybe it's all mental, or maybe it's something chemical. All I have to say is, thanks for having this subreddit. Once I go on to never fapping and only actually having sex, I can honestly say that my life will have changed thanks to you guys. Until then! I will continue on, and play games or other hobbies in place to keep me from fapping out of habit or boredom.

Don't you think enchanting effect restrictions should be a little more accurate than just limiting all headpieces, armors, gloves, and boots?

I think it would be desirable for there to be subcategories for each armor piece. The reason I mention this is because recently I killed Cicero and got his armor... and it looks fucking stupid.. I love the enchantments on the armor, the hat is amazing. I just think that the lame looking jester hat doesn't look very good on my Redgaurd but you can't get sneak enchantments on headpieces. This is kind of understandable, I suppose, but why not separate hoods from armored helmets? Don't you think sneak enchantments should be able to be put on hoods?

Price and speech enchaments, too. Circlets and other various fine garb should be fit to be enchanted with price and speech enchantments.

So far there has been a total of 67 made available, and to buy each of the 24 things in the prize booth you'd need to spend 72. Unless they're only going to release 5 more tickets over the next two days, I think there's going to be something else to buy by the end.

And I'm kinda hoping so, since I know I can't be the only one with spare tickets but the remaining prizes are for games I don't have/aren't interested in. Anyone else saving them up?

If you ACTUALLY could go back in time and kill Hitler, would you really do it? Think very carefully and keep in mind the fact that you would actually have to put a gun to another human being's head and pull the trigger--I kind of suspect more people wouldn't be able to do this than you might think.

I just thought this was a really good hypothetical question that would generate some really interesting discussion, because of course everyone presumes that if ANYONE could actually go back in time and kill Hitler (which would supposedly prevent millions of deaths--mind you that it might not necessarily work that way) they would. But I know there are a good number of people that are vehemently anti-violence, very squeamish about any sort of up-close-and-personal blood/gore, and have trouble even killing bugs around their house, let alone blowing someone's brains out at close range (lets also hypothetically assume that you MUST do it that way, you can't poison him or something, plus you're the ONLY person who is capable of doing this for some odd reason). I really think that there are probably a lot more people than one might suspect who, if they really were given the opportunity to do this, just wouldn't be able to, they couldn't kill another human being at close range regardless of who it was.

Right, so just to clarify a couple points:

You are the only one who can do this. You can't send someone else.
You must do it at close range with a handgun. You can't shoot him from 400 meters out with a sniper rifle, poison his wienerschnitzel, or blow him up. I want to make this as potentially unpleasant as possible and see who thinks they could actually do it.

Edit: lol at the number of people saying they'd do it just to prevent Israel from existing...plus the one guy who said he'd HELP Hitler win the war solely to prevent Israel from existing.
