Depends a lot on the city and the vet. It can go as low as 500/-[Nominal donation] at any CUPA or Blue Cross to 2-3K at a busy Vet.

Is it a lolcat? If yes, the vet will probably do it for free just for teh lulz.

Well done. We need more responsible pet owners like you. I paid Rs 2k per cat (I have 2 females) and another 1k as post-op care. However the rate for males is lower and I understand that you need less post-op care for them as well.

Remember that male cats tend to put on a lot of weight after getting neutered, so ensure you balance his diet - it can get out of hand very fast so you will need to be vigilant and stern - he WILL beg for extra food, so be strong!

In Chennai it's less than Rs. 1k IIRC provided you've already given it the vaccines and whatnot. I only say that because they will convince you to get the vaccines anyway so you might as well account for it.

The Ark in Thiruvanmiyur is a good place, but if you're short on money then the Blue Cross will do an okay job.
