1, yup I suck at this game, but it's still really fun.

And here I thought I'd be the only one with that count.

Not longest, but most gratifying was going undefeated in a local otb (+3 =2 -0) tourney and winning $125 smackers. The cherry was that the +3 was with black Pircs. My finest hour. After analyzing the games and then running them through Fritz my suspicions were confirmed: I was still a nincompoop.

I'd wager that most of us are nincompoops in Fritz's eyes.

Nice run!

Ha ha, yeah. Thanks, it felt really good to win the tourney though. I was walking with my head in the clouds for a few hours.

Like, a million games playing against my computer on its easiest setting.

I'm on a 21-3 streak in my last 24 games of 5 minute. I think the longest streak within there is 8.

I think my longest bullet winning streak is 10 games. I won 7 in a row while drunk one night, and then 3 more the next night.

I used to be 2000+ in suicide chess, and I had a 20+ game win streak on that at some point.

100 but I just play friends or random people at coffee shops, so I dont usually find great players

Same, they all just let their time expire. I must be really intimidating. Or d4 is just that strong.

[–]platypusmusic 2 points3 points ago

if you're so strong it would be fair to offer them the white pieces.

In a park people come across a man playing chess against a dog. They are astonished and say: "What a clever dog!" But the man protests: "No, no, he isn't that clever. I'm leading by three games to one!"

i know it's bad

[–]dugsanpedro 2 points3 points ago

Same here. I played for a while at the library and there was just nobody any good there.

[–]BigVoter 1 point2 points ago

I still get tons of enjoyment regardless of the opponent

I think at least 10 for all time controls, but I don't really know a clever way to check it. And I 've got too many games saved to do it manually.

While in university, I won ten straight games at the school chess club. I had recently discovered the stonewall and nobody knew what to do. Played ten games against various strengths - 1100-1700 ish - and won them all.

OTB Chess tournament last christmas in Groningen, Netherlands. Got 5 out of 5 and won my group plus 200€ ^

Winning streaks aren't really anything to brag about, playing a single game against a better opponent and playing well, that's something to shout about.

[–]CuzinVinny[S] 1 point2 points ago*

How about, I played well against all of my opponents so good that I won 9 games...in a row.

Does that make it sound better, you gorgeous hunk ;D

EDIT: gorgeous hunk

[–]chungle 1 point2 points ago

Look at it like passing a plateau. Your game is stuck at a certain level and suddenly the dam breaks and you start winning a lot of games... Like that.
