What's the emergency services number in your country? I think this has the potential to be quite interesting... (self.AskReddit)

I live in Australia, which has 000. 911 works too though, apparently. I wonder how many other nations have copied America.

Since you beat me to the comment by two minutes, I suppose I'll leave this here for anyone who may not get the reference.

111 in New Zealand. 911 works too

It works now. I remember dialing 911 when I was a kid to see what happened and it went to a message saying "911 is not the emergency number. Please hang up and dial 111 for emergency."

Wow... I just realised that I have no idea.
This is for Switzerland 117 for police, 118 for fire, 144 for ambulance and just 112 for all.
This wiki is relevant.

1414 for the REGA, which, in a country with lots of mountains, is relevant

100 If you press 911 on a cellphone it will dial 100 instead.

[–]tonma 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago
066 or 060 in Mexico. Fortunately never had to use it.

Greece: Officials are: 100 for Police, 166 for an Medical attention,.199 for the Fire Department.
Another one is 112 which is the emergency service number, but it's new and I doubt if anyone uses it. It's supposed to have a tracking system so that it can track the caller whether it's a cellphone or not.

India: 100 for police 101, 102 for ambulance and fire service respectively.
