Why are these abusers not prosecuted for the assaults and other crimes?

I know the cops are probably paid off ... but what about the feds fior civil rights violations or the state cops .

Whatever the Scientologists have perpetrated pales in comparison to the Christians. If the Catholics had been selling pot instead of raping young boys, the government would own every church building in the country.

all these beautiful buildings and real estate and no people

Sounds like churches in the UK. And elsewhere in the western world, for that matter. I've seen some pretty cool churches renovated into apartments.

I've seen a couple references to s2 being broke. Is he in fact broke?

I was trying to figure out why they didn't just walk out the door when they were in LA and tell these people to go to hell, why they were able to be forced into "repaying" the "church" and signing confessions. Then I got to this part:

"But even more important, they knew that if they left the Sea Org without going through the church’s official exit process, they would be declared “suppressive persons” — antisocial enemies of Scientology. They would lose the possibility of living for eternity. Their parents, siblings and friends who are Scientologists would have to disconnect completely from them, or risk being declared suppressive themselves."

Am I wrong for not having the slightest feeling of pity for them? I feel like I should feel sorry for them--for how they were treated--but I don't.
