I had a dog for more than 10 years. He had moved all over the country with me and there were many times that he was my only companion. We knew, loved and understood each other completely.

His death was undescribably devastating. I've moved on with my life, but getting over his death isn't even something that makes much sense to me.

i think that if my dog died, i'd probably have to take a couple days off of work.

When our first dog together was killed by a car, it felt like we had lost a child. He was our first baby.

Family or friend? Have you / will you castrate and forcibly imprison your human family members? Lets be honest, your pet is considered more of a piece of property than a family member.

That's why we don´t castrate or imprison our dog. She has to stay home when we go to work, but so are the kids sometimes.

I guess you can mourn something without respecting it.
